supporting you

"In the lights of bad news,
proceed on bravely with a high chin.
You face the sky,
rather than the abyss below you.
Walk quickly, with strength, with power.
Walk so fast that when you're done,
the chasm will have ended,
and the ground will reappear beneath you..."

"-because every trench must end, or it would not be a trench at all."

For someone very dear to me, stay strong my lovely friend.

Guess Who's On Break?! :D

I am FREE.
Nothing compares to that feeling of having NO work, NO responsibilities, and just FREEDOM.
I just had 7 different tests this week, and I am really happy about being able to take a BREAK.

Just wanted to drop by and just record the utter bliss i feel right now.
I feel so relieved I could melt.

To whoever is not (yet) on break, I would like to wish you good luck. YOU CAN DO IT.
Whatever you're stressed about, breath it out.
Remember to live life in THIS very second! Every second is new.

I hope you guys have a great day :)

More posts coming your way!

Never the End. ❤

Hey guys! So a couple months ago, i was feeling very stressed and down, and so I decided to write a post about the stresses and struggles of being a student, and how many ask me to give advice.
I suppose I just never got around to posting it, so it was saved as a draft.
I hope this post helps you in any way possible, and remember you can always ask for my advice.

Enjoy! (quite a lengthy post. When did I find the time?)

(not proof-readed. beware.)

-

-You know, i'm always getting questions from people on ask.fm who need advice about high school. They struggle with friends, schoolwork, pressure. They are describing the hell that almost everyone has known at some point.
At first i answered them with practical answers, and tried my best to sound like i knew what i was talking about. But being very honest...
I'm there too. I can't give real advice because its not over for me yet. I'm still right there in the middle of it all, shoving my way through with all the strength i can muster.
I was sitting around doing homework today, and suddenly I was inspired to write this post.
Thoughts waved through my head, and the ocean i though eternally deep fell even deeper.
Thinking about the pain and the struggle i've went through makes me hurt so bad.
Thinking about the pain others had to endure and why makes me hurt even worse.
Everyone around me, my peers, they see high school as the most important time of their life. School and education, formalities and rules... that is all we've ever known. We're considered the lucky ones.
Ever since primary school, the concept of classes and staying at an institution for 6 hours a day has always scared the crap out of me. It feels like i am trapped here, with so many more things to see just blocks away.
I used to watched the cars on the other side of the school walls drive by and occasionally i would hear music blast through their windows. Watching them come and go made me feel so much heartache. I wanted them to take me with them. I wanted to see everything there was to see, and i felt like leaving was escape.
The reason for this is because i've never fit in.
I've tried. Tried so hard to just become part of the amoeba that was my school's community.
I was never outcasted, never hated. Never intentionally hurt, and never ignored.
But it gets lonely. Not being the one who gets to speak.
I've ALWAYS loved making people laugh, and since growing up i've lost the confidence to do that.
But every time a friend laughs at a joke i make, it makes me so unbelievably happy.

It gets lonely. Feeling that way.
Feeling like theres no true backbone for you to lean on.
Thinking of this harboring feeling i've had for so long makes me hurt the absolute most. More than anything. It made me feel like crap, and i felt like if i disappeared all that would happen is the class number would go down.
Thats when i found this blog. I found a way to express who i was and what i believed in without stuttering, or waiting for confirmation. People read if they wanted to and if they didn't i didn't give a crap. I wrote what i felt, and i let it go out there.

Thinking of all these things... i came up with this new process of thought.
I finally believe that now, i have real advice. Words that could really help. Words that would have helped me.

Stop caring what others think.
Stop thinking high school is the beginning and the end.
Stop thinking anything is over. Nothing is ever over.
Start living in the moment. Put yourself before anything else.
Stop criticizing yourself for something you don't control.

What's wrong with the school system is that its grade based. Its literally listed out A B C D F.
But life isn't like that. Not the real world.
Grades do not determine how smart you are, and parents who think it does are sadly mistaken.
Life doesn't follow a grading rubric, and when you realize that, some pressure will lift off your shoulders.
The school teaches us that if we don't conform, we will never succeed. We will fall behind.
You go from A,
to B,
to C,
to D,
and then F. Thats what you would call the end.
This brings me to my next point.
NOTHING IS EVER OVER.
No matter how terrible your day was, and whatever happened, the day is going to keep going.
The hours will pass by regardless of if you passed that test of not.
A rejection letter from a college doesn't have the power to stop time either.
Each minute is precious.
Heres something I came up with: you know how we count down to the new year?
Why not count down to a new day?
Everyday is a fresh start. It could be the beginning to anything you want.
The concept of starting fresh could really lift your spirits.
We celebrate a new year; why is a new day any different?
Start everyday thinking thats the first day of the rest of your life. No matter how cheesy that sounds, i don't care. It makes sense.
_

-and that's where I stopped writing. I suppose I never got back to it, but I think all the things I already wrote are substantial to getting my point across.
It's nearing the time when college acceptances and rejection are being sent out.
Seeing the stress of my senior friends and peers is painful for me, because the ongoing pressure they must feel must unbearable.

So, keeping my words in mind, go forward with each day looking at the world with a fresh set of eyes.
Forget about the past. It's not gonna come back for you.
Take each step bravely.

I totally believe in all your abilities to pursue what you have dreamt to do. Or what you may dream of doing someday.

Chase Happiness, Not Success.

Stay bright, my lovely people.

Back Again! :)

Why HellOOOO everyone!

God bless the existence of spring breaks, so I can come back to catch up with all of you!
To be quite honest, for a while i lost the motivation to post on this lovely blog, because the weight of schoolwork and life work and stress, it all pushes me down.
But I'm starting yet another new chapter in my life, ready to pursue my dreams and prioritize the success and happiness of my life.

Many of you precious people sent me messages, telling me to keep going with this.
That I worked way too hard on this blog to give up now, and i believe that too.

I am excited to turn a new leaf, and revamp my content.
So here's what I want:

Either here or on my Instagram (@mitsukrispy), tell me what i should post!
What kind of content do YOU want to see from me? Tutorials? Life Posts/Vlogs? Anything!

Let me know what kind of posts and what sort of things you would enjoy looking into on a lazy day when you venture on to my blog.

Another thing,
I really want you all to think of my blog as a safe place.
As a woman with severe anxiety, I sometimes don't like being in certain situations, and sometimes I panic a little bit. I have times when I am extremely uncomfortable in public, even at home.
So when you're feeling upset or anxious or ANY kind of way, stop by my blog and read. Calm your mind.
Make it a safe haven because that is what i truly want from this.
Just read and remember you can talk to me, ask me anything, or tell me anything.
Along with a blog of fashion, I also have ears to listen to you, and a shoulder for you to cry on.

-and with that, I would like to send you off with a, "see you later!", and a little wave.
I promise i'll see you soon. ❤

Take a look at your clouds today. What do you see?

updates!

Hello my pretty babies!

...again... i am so sorry i've been gone so long!
To save ourselves from the formalities, i will jump right into my updates!

So, christmas is coming up!
In fact, it is Christmas Eve as i write this - crazy, right?
Well, anyways, I thought i'd give a little update on how i'm doing and WHAT.

Lately, school's been keeping me busy, and i haven't had time to post much. I wish I did!
But i am doing all i can posting content on my INSTAGRAM -> @mistukrispy
I've been improving my photography skills, and i've been learning to work with the tech to getting my photos from my camera, to my computer, to editing, to my phone!

But i've learned quite a bit, so here's a lil' snapshot of my christmas tree!

Let's keep it short and sweet.
Have an amazing holiday - each and every one of you.
You're all amazing for actually staying with my non-active blog, and i promise that i will pick up my ass and get to making new and entertaining posts for you babies!

Have an amazing holiday, whatever it is that you celebrate.
Whatever it is, be happy, and be near your family.
Appreciate those you love and who love you,
and be thankful for everything you have and what is your privilege.

I am thankful for my family, my puppies, my blog, my readers, my friends, and everything in between.
I am thankful that I am able to share so many opinions and artistic freedoms with the world, when I know many people in the world can't.
Be appreciative and know you have it good. And if you don't, know it'll only go uphill.

See the subtle beauty surrounding you, and allow it to fill your heart with warmth and happiness.
Seeing the good rather than the bad will change how you see things.
No matter how many presents you get this holiday season, just never forget how life a gift in itself!
-and as New Year's rolls around, come up with a resolution and STICK TO IT.

Let's have a great, (and safe), holiday season!
Love and be loved, my sweethearts!

Krispy Adventures: Leoda's in Maui! ❤

While I was in the beautiful island Maui, Hawaii, I had the opportunity to visit one of Maui's best eats:
Leoda's Kitchen and Pie Shop!

It was a tiny little place, quaint but decorated beautifully with painting and nautical items.
Busy little stand, but everyone was happy and buzzing. Paradise is a wonderful place to be, indeed.

So my cousin, my sister, and I bought an entree each for ourselves.
We came back to the hotel with bags of food and anticipation.
We laid out a sheet on our hotel floor and had a picnic right then and there.

Not much to say now, so just enjoy these food pictures~

Greasy... but promising.

Leoda's Chicken Pot Pie

Leoda's Garden Salad

Leoda's Burger

Then, finally, we were able to finally taste what Leoda's was famous for:

THEIR PIES!

We each got a tiny little pie, each decorated simply and adorably.

Chocolate Cream Pie

Apple Crumble Pie

Banana Cream Pie

The banana cream pie was mine....
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS.
I HAVE NEVER TASTED ANYTHING SO AMAZING IN MY LIFE.
If i'm ever back in Maui... #1 priority.

Bags and bags of food later, we all fell into a food coma.

Hawaii was an amazing experience...one I will never forget.
I was able to truly appreciate the island mentality and lifestyle. I was still a young child the last time I  went to Hawaii.

Now that i've entered one of my most stressful years of studies, I can look back and feel grateful for the peace and utter elation that I felt on this paradise island.
The island mentality was so... laid-back. So causal.
Going on vacation with my family like this may not come again for a long time, so i'm glad I was able to have this. It was a lovely holiday.

I hope you enjoyed this foodie post! :)
I know i've been gone, I'm well aware.
I'm a busy bee since school started.

Good to look back at my summer adventures.

Mini Makeup Haul! ❤

Yes, I am back again!
If you've noticed, I've been posting alot these past few days. :)
This is because I owe it to you guys.
When I find extra time, I've gotta dedicate it to the success of this blog.

So i'm back with a LONG overdue post,
My Summer Mini Makeup Haul! :D

As you can see in the picture above, I only bought four products, but it was $$$ lemme tell ya.

Alright, so to get right to the point, let's start with the first product!

1. benefit's "Watt's up!" highlighter
PRICE: $30.00 @ Sephora

The packaging as FREAKING adorable, I may add. benefit has never disappointed me with their vibrant and adorable package designs, and I think it really attracts me to their products.
So the product claims to illuminate the areas of the face that it is applied to, and to give a light pink shimmer. I was actually given the smaller sample size of this product about a year before as a sephora birthday gift, and I have been using it ever since! Its tiny and easy to carry around, and it really is a very subtle yet works very well.
So I was very excited to purchase the full sized product because, you know, bigger the better?
Well, I would say it isn't.
While the product is the same and works just as well, the size of the product is the main concern for me.

For the mini version that I had, it was easier to apply to small places like the nose bridge, eyebrow bone, and the inner corners of the eyes. (this is just where I applied it.)
The large size of the product made it a bit clumsy and less kept-together.

But nonetheless, still a great product. I recommend!

2. benefit's REAL! Push-up Liner
PRICE: $24.00

This is what's HOT in the beauty world right now.
benefit has come out with this magnificent new eyeliner that is blacker than black, and applies like no other.
Its supposed to get between the lashes and apply such an even coat you won't even have to line the waterline.

Lemme just start off by saying I was VERY excited to buy this. I had read about it, watched reviews on it, and I just anticipated getting it.
Eyeliner is probably my most IMPORTANT element of makeup.
It just looks really good and gives the eye that definitive shape, as well as showing expression and making them pop.
So, therefore, I was extremely excited to find this in the store that day for my immediate purchase.

The tip of the brush is specially designed to curve AROUND the lashes, so that it really gets a close line.
As you can see, most of the tip is actually PLASTIC, and the product is actually dispensed through a small slit in the plastic. There is knob at the bottom to turn that will push the product out.
Its sharp, and that is the technology that supposedly gives a magnificent line to the eye.
So, I want to say I adored this product, but I didn't.
Although it was very dark and made a great line, it ran.
it ran alot.
I would have lines on the fold of my eyelid and black circles under my eyes.
tried to fix it with primer, but to no avail.
I may give an update on this later, and i will try to find a solution as well.
I would recommend it, because the running is for my eyelid type specifically.
Otherwise the product is very dark and rich, living up to the hype.

3. Drawing Show: Brush Liner
PRICE: Apprx. $9:50

Another buy from my favorite brand-Etude House
Always on the look-out for new eyeliners, and I was quick to jump on this one.
From this same exact line, I have a little tub of gel liner.
Its the most AMAZING thing, therefore I had to try the brush liner.

To get straight to the review:
This liner... leaks.
It gives me eye bags, even with a THICK layer of eye primer.
But, nonetheless, I do like it.
Not my go-to liner, but if I really need a thin line, its what I grab.

The tip is the typical brush tip, which is easy to glide across the eyelid.
The color of the product is a nice, deep black, very opaque and having great cohesiveness when applied.
Not much to say about the product, only that its good, but not the best that i've had.

I hope you all enjoyed my LONG OVERDUE haul post! ^^
School has SERIOUSLY been horrifically busy, so posting is a difficult task to find time for.
I know you have all been waiting, and I am sorry. I promise with my whole heart that I will try to post more.
In fact, i've just ordered a bunch from Yesstyle.com, so another haul post may be flying your way!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post! :)

Boy, i'm exhausted.
